Destiny's Godchild: A Novel of Intrigue and Enchantment in Frankish Gaul
I give it three stars because it at least tries to bring alive the Merovingians. Novels that do are thin on the ground. If you like your historical fiction heavily laced with Druids and magic powers, you may well like it. I happen not to. It is full of minor historical gaffes and some proof reading howlers ( he wondered if he would loose his mind; the wound was full of puss). But the hero Egar is likable enough and it did help me keep track of who was who and what was where in 6th century Francia.
