In the Bear's House Book

I found this book mysterious and intriguing, especially the Bear-God dialogues. With the bear representing the spirit of the wilderness, as Momaday said in his introduction, it's kind of a conversation between creation and the Creator. With topics like dreams, story, thought, and time, the dialogue is certainly thought-provoking and I imagine would bear repeated reading. Mostly they seem to me to be about the way Momaday's God suggests life should be lived: "celebrate[d:] in the proper way, with grace and humility, wonder and contentment, in the strong, deep current of your spirit's voice." And I love the small bursts of humor, such as bear missing God's point until God mentions berries. "Berries? Berries?" says the bear. "I begin to see the strength of your argument." Gorgeous writing and much food for thought.
