The Tuskegee airmen
I read the 2009 version of this book. This book interlaces the story of the civil rights movement with the story of the Tuskegee Airmen. This is a good introduction to these heroes of World War II. The Tuskegee Airmen had a better record than their white counterparts and it was their success that helped integrate the armed forces. The photographs add richness to the concise but meaningful text. The story of the Tuskegee Airmen should not be forgotten.
