Are You Nuts? Book

This is a mere sketch of a story: thin in sense of place and character, with a plot that's hard to care about. The gay politics and relationship are paraded somewhat heavy handedly, and there are really inexcusable excursions into body and fashion shaming. The 'investigation' is carried out in a manner that is hard to credit: why half the people even talk to the POV character is not explained and completely unconvincing. The underlying current seems to be that we gay people are just super hawt, fashionable, popular and cool.

I was hoping for a gay mystery more of the quality of the Joseph Hansen 'Dave Brandstetter' series. But this isn't it. Perhaps Zubro achieves better in what appears to be a long series, but I have no urge to find out.

I am really only giving this book a two* rating to be gay supportive. From the first chapter on, my urge was to not finish. I wish I'd gone with that initial feeling.
