This unique and spectacular puzzle depicts the known world a century before Columbus. The puzzle includes a large, poster-sized print of the map for use as a model in its assembly. This extra magnification will be much welcome when sorting out the beautiful but intricate calligraphy of this map. The Jewish cartographer, Cresques Abraham of Mallorca (d.1381), was a compass maker, watchmaker and nautical instrument maker by trade and lived under the personal protection of the royal families of Spain. He bequeathed a myriad of sea charts, now lost, particularly the outstanding Atlas Catal? of 1375, made with help from his son Jafud? Cresques.
