Nicknamed "Ronnie" (though her nickname is often shortened even more to "Ron"), Veronica Lodge acts as the spoiled rich girl stereotype of Riverdale. She is portrayed to be very materialistic and superficial, her best friends often being stated as plastic (the kind that credit cards are made of) and money, and is a firm believer in happiness being able to be bought by money. Though many of her negative traits are majorly highlighted throughout the comic books, there is always a time where Veronica is portrayed as a saint, which adds a few more dimensions to her character.|
She likes getting her way, due to her parents often spoiling her, so if she doesn't, she resorts to any means to get her way by using her slyness to manipulate and/or bribe people. In this phase, she won't mind backstabbing her friends or intentionally hurting somebody. She is usually seen using these methods when a boy in town catches her eye who doesn't seem to be interested in her. That gets to another huge part of her personality. Being the proclaimed "most beautiful girl in Riverdale," she is also a heart breaker.
Veronica is not a particularly good student in school, mostly settling for mediocrity in school, paying more attention than she should to vanity, boys, and so on. Once in a while, she is shown getting an A, and even in some issues showing a prowess for economics.
She is seen playing every sport in the comics, whether it be basketball, hockey, soccer, etc. She also can sing, being the vocalist of the band the Archies (which she had formed with Archie, Betty, Jughead, and Reggie), as well as the keyboardist (she is also shown being quite gifted in playing the piano).
Ron lives in a mansion that never looks the same in two issues, and is sometimes seen owning a poodle, or a cat, or in some cases, both.
Her comic book titled simply 'Veronica' premiered in April 1989 and remains an ongoing series.
