Writers Who Inspired the World Book

Rafe Martin tells this story in first person about his writing process. He says that he began telling stories when he was young, and began writing as soon as he started school. He lives in Rochester, New York with his wife, daughter, dog, and two cats. He also has a son who is in college. He begins his writing in the morning when his daughter goes to school and his wife leaves for work. He takes a break at lunch, he is a vegetarian. After lunch he continues writing, but also takes phone calls and answers his mail. He researches ideas from libraries and museums. When he writes about animals he often draws or paints them, his favorite are gorillas, whales, and wooly mammoths. Sometimes in the afternoons he will go outside to ride his bike or kayak to relax and think of new ideas. In his spare time he enjoys going to schools to tell stories and read his book. He enjoys his job of writing and telling stories very much.
