Authors

  • Complete United States Bankruptcy Code (U.S. Code, Title 11) and select provisions relating to bankruptcy in Title 18 (Crimes) and Title 28 (Judicial Procedure), as amended by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. Current Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, as amended by the new Interim Bankruptcy Rules approved by the Standing Committee on Rules of Practice on August 22, 2005 for adoption by local courts.
  • The Black Line shows additions and deletions to the Bankruptcy Code, related provisions in Titles 18 and 28, and the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. Additions are indicated by black underlined text; deletions are indicated by black strike through text.
  • The Reform Act provides that, as a general rule, its provisions shall take effect 180 days after the date of enactment (i.e., on October 17, 2005). It further provides that it shall not apply to cases commenced under Title 11 prior to such effective date. However, the Act also sets forth a number of exceptions to these general rules. This publication contains a comprehensive table summarizing each exception.
  • A full citation to source follows each section of the Bankruptcy Code and related statutes. This includes a citation to the Reform Act for sections that are amended thereby.

Key Benefits:

  • The Black Line shows each change to the Bankruptcy Code effected by the Reform Act and each change to the Bankruptcy Rules effected by the Interim Bankruptcy Rules. You know exactly what text has changed and what text has stayed the same.
  • The pre-Reform Act version of the Bankruptcy Code will still apply to most cases commenced prior to the effective date of the Act (October 17, 2005). This black line edition eliminates the need to carry around 2 versions of the code.
  • Handy paperback size of 8½ x 5½ inches easily fits in briefcase or purse. 400 pages.
