The Psycho[bio]logy of human eating disorders Book

I read this cover to cover when it came out in 1998, but it gets pulled off the shelf frequently. This time around, I once again shook my head in wonder at the critical writing of Max Harrison, who wrote the essay on Parker's Dial and Savoy recordings. I also shook my head, but in a negative way, at most of the contemporary reviews of Parker's records. Recordings which are now considered timeless masterpieces are casually dismissed with B- or C+ ratings.

A collection like this will tend to be somewhat uneven, and The Charlie Parker Companion is not exception. But it's an essential book for any Parker enthusiast.
