The Ultraviolet Sky Book

The way that Villanueva writes the story of Rosa, an artist and single mother who is just trying to finish a painting, fluctuates from wild to poetic, tender and tortured, sensual and stoic. The style of writing so closely matches the character of Rosa that I felt pulled in to her psyche. The book reminded me of a vision quest, where Rosa dives into self-discovery throughout the narrative, emerging (without apologies) knowing (and loving) herself better.
