The Sceptical Realism of David Hume (Studies in intellectual history) Book

Kenneth Dark was a student under, if I have gotten my inferences right, David Dumville. So, you can be certain he has done his research. A quick scan of his bibliography confirms that. Unlike his mentor, this book is an attempt to take a fresh look at some old materials. For instance, a good portion of the book is devoted to delineating the outlines of the lower British kingdoms by using sites that claimed a saint or saints were associated with that kingdom. Obviously the kingdoms did not have stable borders, and clearly the saints used limit his results to a narrow period, but the idea is a sound one, the follow-through is thorough, and the results are extremely useful.
