Truly a grab bag as others have said. A few compelling stories and a few tedious observations on troubled father relationships. At a certain point, it's "much of a muchness".
This is not a book I recommend reading all the way through. Pick out a few stories, the gems, and you'll find it quite easy to discard the rest.
