Textile Art from Southern Appalachia: The Quiet Work of Women features forty-four coverlets and two quilts made by hand weavers who lived in Western North Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia. Kathleen Curtis Wilson has spent many years researching Southern Appalachian overshot coverlet weaving. She has traveled throughout the United States to interview experts in the art of weaving as well as the descendants of the women depicted throughout this book.
