For a library pre-school age story time on the sun, this book provides a nice introduction. Just use the first six pages.
"Early in the morning the sun comes up." (page 1) You can invite the children to make a sun with their arms over their head and their hands meeting.
"Look out of you window. Is it... " and then there are little pictures depicting various weather conditions. We looked out our window and it was cloudy. I suggested the weather announcer on television would call this "overcast" and then invited the children to say "overcast" with me. (page 2)
"On HOT days" and there are little pictures depicting various things that happen on warm days (p.3)
More observations are shown on page 4 followed by the question "What do you do on HOT days?" Here you can entertain some responses from the group.
"Do you watch the clouds ail by in all shapes and sizes?" (page 5)
"What else do you see in the sky?" (page 6)
