Strategic Marketing in Education An Integrated Approach to Leadership Book

I read this book perhaps too quickly, and so my evaluation is a little wobbly... I had a totally different idea than what I actually read, and that didn’t help me get the exact message that maybe Gary wants to give us...
The story revolves around the reality of Polish resistance, precisely in the forest of Vilna, our main character is a young 14-year-old boy named Janek, we meet him struggling with his formation as a young partisan... but it is not the most striking in the narrative.
Janek , our young man, has the blessing of being able to preserve a pure and innocent heart, the gift to find grace of the good and salvation of the soul in the beauty, knowing how to taste even inside the tragedy of death, of war and betrayal of the comrades, what only saves... faith in the human heart and therefore all that it can produce to keep burning the flame of a true humanity ( music, a respectful love for a girl, sharing reading, respect and honor for companions, etcc...). What I’ve struggled to appreciate, is this particular reality that Gary creates... a continuous alternation between realities of true, poignant and devastating pain that the daily life of war creates for its victims, and fairy-tale descriptions, kind of magic that contrasts in a sort of "comparison" or ambivalent crossroads of reality. Where the characters, the men we will know...jump then in these two particular dimensions, creating therefore to the eyes of the reader, a structure that ( for me) is not always convincing and satisfying ( but I’m sure that wasn’t Gary’s goal).
The concept of Europe, then, is carried forward through the book that gives us the student and partisan Dobranski, the title of the book in question European Education, It's the book that the student is writing... here the concept State and the meaning and desire of a place of salvation is always unraveled, however, within an ambivalent and idealistic concept. He(Gary/Dobranski) creates a sort of metaphor between the fairy-tale aspect and the reality of war and peace that Dobranski proposes in his book. Everything therefore alternates in this conflict of desire and imagination of civilization, which we European, will then see born under the concept of United Europe
The desire for life, unity and hope is only created in our days..... a reality unfortunately only desired in the heart and not lived and enjoyed by our men that we will meet in the narrative.



Roman Gary

Ho letto questo libro forse troppo velocemente, e quindi la mia valutazione è un pochino traballante....mi ero fatta un' idea totalmente diversa da ciò che poi realmente ho letto, e questo non mi ha aiutato nel saper cogliere l'esatto messaggio che Gary ci vuole donare...
La storia gira tutta intorno alla realtà della resistenza polacca, precisamente nella foresta di Vilna, il nostro personaggio principale è un giovane ragazzo quattordicenne di nome Janek, qui lo incontriamo alle prese con la sua formazione di giovane partigiano.... ma non è quello che piu' colpisce nelle narrazione. Janek , omai giovane uomo, ha la benedizione di riuscire a conservare un cuore puro e innocente, il dono di trovare sempre la grazia del bene e della salvezza dell' anima nel bello, nel saper gustare anche dentro alla tragedia della morte, della guerra e dei tradimenti dei compagni, ciò che unicamente salva....la fede nel cuore umano e quindi tutto ciò che esso può produrre per tener accesa la fiamma di una umanità vera ( la musica,l'amore rispettoso per una ragazza, la condivisione della lettura, il rispetto e l'onore per i compagni, etcc....).
Ciò che invece ho fatto molta fatica ad apprezzare, è questa particolare realtà che Gary crea... un continuo alternarsi tra realtà di dolore vero, struggente e devastante che la quotidianità della guerra crea alle proprie vittime, e le descrizioni fiabesche, magiche che contrappone in una specie di "paragone" o crocevia ambivalente di realtà. Dove i personaggi, gli uomini che conosceremo...saltano quindi in queste due particolari dimensioni, creando quindi agli occhi del lettore, una struttura che ( per me) non è sempre convincente e appagante ( ma sono sicura non fosse questo l' obbiettivo di Gary).
Il concetto di Europa poi, viene portato avanti tramite il libro che ci dona lo studente e partigiano Dobranski, il titolo del libro in questione Educazione Europea, altro non è che il libro che sta scrivendo lo studente... qui viene dipanato il concetto di Stato e il significato e il desiderio di un luogo di salvezza sempre però dentro ad un concetto ambivalente e idealista. Si crea quindi una sorta d metafora tra l'aspetto fiabesco e la realtà di guerra e di pace che Dobranski propone nel suo libro. tutto si alterna quindi in questa contrapposizione di desiderio e immaginazione di civiltà, che noi europei vedremo quindi nascere sotto il concetto di " Europa unita".
Il desiderio di vita, unità e speranza viene quindi a crearsi solo all'oggi.....una realtà purtroppo solo desiderata nel cuore e non vissuta e goduta dai nostri uomini che incontreremo nella narrazione.
