J.M. Watson has finally released his first book of poetry, Salt of the Ocean, in Barnes and Noble Nook format as an E book.
Salt of the Ocean is a great collection of poetry.
It includes over 45 poems, and one oddly placed piece called Masonic Brick.
It's filled with over a dozen black and white photographs.
The usage of vivid details and symbolic numerals throughout the book give evidence to the response that poetry is dead.
It is very much alive!
If you've fallen in love with poetry in the past, check out this imaginative version in only Nook format.
The photographs are stiffening.
It is a book which is dedicated to his late mother, Gail D. Watson; who passed away in 2008.
You can tell Watson took a certain melancholic perspective on death in this book, but he also gave breathing room to the subject of life.
Watson is a commander of the English Language, and he uses his greatest skill well.
The skill of communication.
He brings in rhythmic beats and sets the book off with his first poem, Nightingale's wings.
A poem about nature and the need for motherly nurturing, it sets the mood for the whole book.
Then comes copper; a poem about the value of a penny.
Then, offbeat; a poem about simply being the way he only is, according to his words.
His two masterpieces, Below and Missy, come another two poems later.
This book is long.
124 pages in length.
And, interestingly enough, there's credits at the very end of the cast of characters Watson had helped him in the creation of his first book of poetry.
J.M. Watson is an underground author who had his first book of poetry published in the beginning of 2010.
"I wanted to set the new year off with a bang," he says. "I wanted 2010 to be a new decade! I wanted to change the landscape of poetry as we know it."
J.M. Watson is currently working on a project that is a series of fictional novels.
He is the founder and creator of a group of artists that come from the underground and become published. They are known as the Romantic realists.
