After more than 20 years in residential childcare I thought it was time to write a book. Not another text book or somebody else's idea on how to do it, and I've not set out to write an autobiography; although superficially, it is by its very nature, semi-autobiographical. The title I feel says it all, in terms of what I set out to achieve and hopefully will. It is perhaps something that every residential worker will be able to relate to. However, I also hope a wider audience will find it to be an interesting read, and yet doubtless to some, a shocking and scary account. Although there is equally some degree of 'residential humour' hidden amongst its pages.
WARNING; this book will leave you with a cascade of emotions.
