Palmerston and the Politics of Foreign Policy, 1846-1855
I was looking for a key to getting deeper insight into Tocqueville. What I got was a selective biography of his time here (some nice anecdotes) and an overview/survey of the literary criticism of his writing. It was not what I wanted, but that is not to say it was poor scholarship.
