Manifest Destiny's Underworld: Filibustering in Antebellum America Book

I had to read this book for school, so I was already a little resentful of it to begin with. However, this book failed to grip me in a few areas.

One, I didn't like the organization of the facts. The different topics seemed rather scattered and several historical names were mentioned without any sort of background about who they were. If there was any background, it was very difficult to remember throughout the book.

I also personally thought that there was an overflow of information. There was really too much detail for my taste. It seemed as though he was giving too many examples for the points he was trying to prove.

Lastly, the language really failed to grip me. The only aspect of the book that I found interesting of the book was the information that I didn't necessarily know before. And even this was slightly ruined by the overwhelming amount of information.

The book was ok, but I don't know that I would recommend it.
