Humana Festival '96: The Complete Plays written by Michael Bigelow Dixon

Including a chronological history of the festival.

20th Annual Humana Festival of New American plays

Actors Theatre of Louisville February 27 - April 6, 1996

This is the fourth volume in Smith and Kraus' annual series of plays produced at America's premiere New Play Festival. The plays from the 1996 Festival, featured in this volume, are: Joan Ackerman's The Batting Cage, Anne Bogart's Going, Going, Gone, Jimmy Breslin's Contract with Jackie, Elizabeth Dewberry's Flesh and Blood, Dabid Henry Hwang's Trying to Find Chinatown, Tony Kushner's Reverse Transcription, Craig Lucas' What I Meant Was, Jane Martin's Jack and Jill, and Guillermo Reyes' Chilean Holiday.

Playbill Magazine

New to the world of play publishing-and already knee-deep in it-is Smith and Kraus, a New Hampshire concern, which has aggressively corralled for publication the collected works of Christopher Durang, Eric Overmyer, John Guard, Jane Martin, Romulus Linney, and William Mastrosimone; Ibsen, Isreal Horovits, Chekhov, Terrence McNally, Lanford Wilson, A.R. Gurney, and Horton Foote all rate two volumes. The plays are down-to-wire current too, from Wilson's translation of Three Sisters which just got a starry staging at Roundabout, to a couple of Humana Festival' 96 entries, which went into New York Production (Naomi Wallace's One Flee Spare at The Public and John Patrick Shanley's Missing Marisa/Kissing Christine at Primary Stages).
