Former Poet Laureate of Kentucky Dr. Frank X Walker's penetrating second volume of his award winning 'York' poems published by the University Press of Kentucky. Both Dr. Walker (and York) believed the journey was completed in 'Buffalo Dance' (2004), as York left on the 1804-1806 Lewis & Clark Expedition as Captain William Clark's enslaved Black man-servant and returned to internal and external liberation. Both Walker (and York) are again called back to furthest boundaries of the map, however, as Walker's research leads him to be slowly initiated into the oral histories of the Pacific Northwest's Nez Perce Tribe and he eventually comes face-to-face with the descendants of York himself. York, now indigenous, speaks for the entirety of the American landscape.
