In this sequel to Flight from Big Tangle, Kaylee is furious about being left to spend the summer with a girl her own age, Jaz, and Jaz's uncle, Jack. Leicht und traurig zugleich schreibt Jutta Richter über den Sommer, in dem Gisela krank wird. Krebs. Anna kennt niemanden, der nach diesem Wort wieder gesund geworden ist... Ihre Mutter kümmert sich immer mehr um Gisela; die Jungs gehen nach der Schule zusammen verbotenerweise angeln, Anna zieht sich zurück, ihr Wissen um Gisela macht sie hilflos. Außerdem ist da die Sehnsucht nach dem Vater, dem sie nahe war, näher als ihrer Mutter, die lieber einen Jungen gehabt hätte. Eine schwierige Zeit für alle.
