Fashion Victim: Our Love-Hate Relationship with Dressing, Shopping, and the Cost of Style Book

A very informative book. One that I suspect is hard for most people to read. There are a lot of heavily loaded topics in here that a lot of people would rather gloss over with simple solutions. I appreciate that this book can make people think, that is for people who are willing to think. It makes people question who are willing to question. However there are no attempts at solutions. All choices are bad is the conclusion of the book and that fashion will win every time regardless of our beliefs. It was written in the early 2000's but that doesn't make it overly out of date. It's not much different now. Solutions for fashion that are truly sustainable as well as cruelty free are very truly hard to come by. And to find them we have to try very hard. Fast Fashion is worse than it ever was. Because there are no attempts to find solutions the book leaves one with an over all feeling of despair and hopelessness and even confusion. Because if we aren't wearing man made toxic clothing or products made from animals.....then....what does one wear??? For it covering a lot of aspects of fashion I give it 4 stars and it loses only one for creating this annoyed feeling of hopelessness in me!
