Born in Southern California, in 1949, Rick Cline is the son of a World War II Navy veteran. His father served on the escort carrier USS Petrof Bay. The carrier saw action in several Pacific campaigns, most notably, the famous Battle of Leyte Gulf. Rick's father-in-law served on the battleship USS Colorado during WW II. An award-winning photojournalist, Rick Cline has been a student of World War II history for more than 30 years. He spent three years writing and researching the book, Escort Carrier WW II. Rick and his wife Diana live in Southern California. He has two grown children and one grandchild.
