An introduction to the coral reef world of the oceans that is geared towards older children who have began to read. The book is full of colorful pictures while the amount of animals included within the pages is just a small amount that can be actually found in a coral reef background and full of facts that children most likely haven't heard about.
The formatting of the book is a bit on the hectic side since it starts off with an introduction to the animal or the subject for that page or pages. From there it goes into giving secondary paragraphs while also further emphasizing important facts by pointing out the points using the illustration of the animal although not in order so you may be talking about fins in one, digestion in the next and back to fins.
All in all it is a great book to get children started on learning about the animals in the oceans and how their relationships affect each other as well as themselves. From there if children show more interest other books may be found that goes deeper into the subject itself.
