Wow! Even though this book is written decades ago, the message still is profoundly applicable. I try to keep my 5 stars to a minimum, reserving them for books that contain exceptional talent in writing or write about a message everybody needs to hear and multiple times! I will definitely be reading this one again!
As a type A, enneagram 1, people pleasing perfectionist, this book was a must read for me. The author digs into scripture, tells just the right stories from her life and those of others she has met and challenges her readers to think differently, to reflect on how we are actually doing in the area of control and to give our trust to God.
She covers how control can be direct or indirect, reasons why we control, ways we control those around us (finances, kids, spouse) and how it affects our lives and then finishes the book with chapters on control and the Bible as well as how we can gain spiritual freedom for ourselves.
This is a must read for ALL women. It is true for those that control directly, but also true for those women who think they don't have control issues but are in actuality controlling others indirectly. Pick this one up and read!
