Confronting Disaster: An Existential Approach to Technoscience

I read this book for Chapter 2: Talk, Templates and Tradition: How the Masons Built Chartres Cathedral Without Plans. However, sociologist Turnbull's writing style made history so engaging that I ended up reading many other chapters. The book contains an interesting, almost bizarre, collection of some of my favorite subjects: Chaco Canyon, New Mexico; Hopi calendars (that include silhouettes of the San Francisco Peaks, some of my favorite hiking grounds); Cuzco, Peru, a place where I have professed to live someday; and of course, Chartres Cathedral in France. Well developed bibliography. Highly recommended.
