Colin McRae Book

Colin McRae was the youngest World Rally Champion at the age of 27, and also the first British winner. As son of the five times British Rally Champion Jim McRae, Colin began trialing motorbikes, then moved to an autotest Mini and rallying Avengers and Sunbeams. In 1988, just two years after his rally debut, McRae was first in class in both the British Open Rally Championship and the British National Championship. He became the British Rally Champion in 1991 and 1992 with Subaru, he then won the 1994 RAC Rally.

This book charts his rise, including coverage of his 1995 championship, through losing the title in 1996, to fighting back in 1997 with co-driver Nicky Grist. It gives an analysis of McRae's dramatic 1995 season, including his battle with team-mate Carlos Sainz.
