This is a pleasing little 8 " square paperback book featuring baby dog Clifford at bedtime. There are three large pop-ups, one page with a tab to pull, and another page with an endearing action that causes Clifford's mother to give him a goodnight kiss! The simple story, experienced by children and parents every night, has Clifford calling for his bear, then his doll, his blanket and, finally, a kiss good night! Clifford curls up to sleep in a basket with his mother sleeping by its side. Clifford's mother is a yellow dog with a black nose and long black eyelashes. Clifford is red of course but, in this story, still a very small puppy. The artist has created a warm relationship between mother and baby dog and the repeated requests for time-consuming attention from baby Clifford are met with patient and loving kindness.
