Classroom Cupboard: Lessons
A nicely balanced collection of tales, representing a wide range both in folk genre and in cultural background. The stories grouped into thematic chapters reflect the cultural diversity of the country, from indigenous tales to those of European or African origins. There are tricksters, monsters, classic fairy tale types, animal stories, and many other things that should be included in a representative national collection. I was especially pleasantly surprised by the scary Stories section. I am not a big fan of scary stories, which is why it was impressive that I actually enjoyed the tales in that chapter.
