Black Power in the Suburbs: The Myth or Reality of African American Suburban Political Incorporation
Interesting history of politics in my county, Prince George's. The information about the history of the rise of Black political officials in my county was especially interesting to me since I know many of the people even if the book was written over 15 years ago. Also the changing demographics from a County which was only 12% African American in 1950 to one that is now over 60% African American and its impact on the County was very relevant to my current work. The only failure I have with the book is the need to make broad sociological conclusions from the data which I am not sure are supported.
