An Anthology of Greek Prose
He estado leyendo este libro que recoge "Cantos de amor" que escribieron en Egipto los escribas hacia el año 1500 a. C. Los escribÃan en papiros, vasos, fragmentos de caliza... Y se recitaban en público en distintos lugares.
Leer estos textos escritos hace tantos siglos pero que describen sentimientos tan reales y tan actuales, me han resultado interesantes y emocionantes.
Os pongo aquÃ, como muestra, una inscripción, titulada "Para alabar a una reina. Mut-Nefertari, esposa de Ramsés II":
La princesa, rica en alabanzas, dueña de la gracia,
dulce de amor, Soberana de los Dos PaÃses,
la bella, cuyas manos sostienen los sistros,
la que alegra a su padre Amón.
La muy amada que lleva la corona,
la cantante del rostro hermoso, la gloriosa con dos plumas,
la más grande del gineceo del Señor del Palacio,
aquélla cuya palabra os hace feliz.
Todo lo que pide por ella se hace,
toda cosa bella adviene según su corazón,
todas sus palabras traen la dicha a los rostros,
se vive de oÃr su voz.
