A pet for me Book

A Pet for Me: Poems, were selected by the poet Lee Bennett Hopkins. Each poem is about a different pet that a children would enjoy having. The book goes from a dog that gives "sloppy doggy kisses" to a pet snake that "all he really does is hisssssssssss."

The book includes double page spreads of art, bleeding images, and framed pictures. Each poem has its very own image to go along with it. Throughout the book, both the animals and children are happy to cherish the bond they have with one another. A Pet for Me is a great book to get children interested in poetry.
