It is extraordinary to witness how broad and deep the gay and lesbian literary heritage truly is, and how many representative and canonical authors are included in this volume. This book should be indispensable for libraries (for students looking to appreciate their heritage and find authors to read and about whom to write) as well as the shelves of all literate gay and lesbian writers and readers. The entries are very well written, and the selections impressive.
