Macrolide Antibiotics
I was asked to review this book for Nature. I accepted the assignment because it is a book about fragile X syndrome and I have a project about this condition.
I was completely blown away - this is a phenomenal book - among the best I have ever read. Clare Dunsford is a masterful writer, but more than that - she is a truth-teller, a truth-seeker, and a revolutionary. Her ability to guide the reader through the experiences associated with having a child with fragile X is so exquisite, that even those with children with different conditions (I have two kids with pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) ), will find their own story told.
I have written my review, which is suppose to appear in the July issue of Nature. I have also decided, with my colleagues, to award Clare Dunsford the Genetic Alliance Art of Advocacy Award in July, at the Genetic Alliance Annual Conference (www.geneticalliance.org).
Wow.
