The basic idea of inverse methods is to extract from the evaluation of measured signals the details of the object emitting them. The applications range from physics and engineering to geology and medicine (tomography). Although most contributions are rather theoretical in nature, this volume is of practical value to experimentalists and engineers and as well of interest to mathematicians. Inverse methods in action
In this educational book, Richard Scarry explains the myriad uses of air, using his trademark informative illustrations and slapstick humor. Bound to be a favorite of children (and adults!) entranced with the idea of flying'whether by airplane, helicopter, balloon or spacecraft.
The lunar voyage, with astronauts Wolfgang Wolf, Benny Baboon and Harry Hyena (and Lowly Worm as the obligatory stowaway) ranks among my three favorite Richard Scarry stories ever.
