In this humorous collection of essays on fatherhood, comedy writer and playwright Lee Kalcheim chronicles his surprise second half of life, when he finds himself newly married and subsequently the father of twin boys. But you can't stop living just because you have kids, and as Lee's career picks up, he packs up the family with him. Moving to Los Angeles is just one adventure, as they find themselves working on the television series "Something Wilder," starring Gene Wilder, a sitcom based on Lee's own lifeā¦sort of. Hollywood can't help but rewrite their story.
But LA doesn't last, and soon Lee and his family are jetting off to Rome, for a year's teaching gig, before settling back in New York City. As the years progress, Lee's children continue to grow, and as such, so does Lee himself. Along the way, life lessons are taught, laughs are shared, and as Lee comes to learn, it's the kids that make is all worthwhile. Part memoir, part self-help, this always engaging volume shows that when families stick together, life is one big, amazing journey. And you can't rewrite that.
