Education and Training 14-19: Chaos or Coherence? Book

If you're a trainee teacher or about to embark on teacher training, I might not recommend starting with this book. Perhaps a more general book on becoming a teacher would be more suitable, as I couldn't help thinking I should have read such a book while reading this. Not that it was at such a high level but it is very specific towards the subject. However, it still opens your mind to new teaching strategies in a friendly and practical manner. With an even more thorough reading of this manual, I will feel well armed and even more reassured as I embark on a career teaching English. The author is very understanding and knowledgeable of the issues faced by English teachers in the classroom and has many insightful solutions for coping with them. I wish I had read this book for my few teaching experiences. What I particularly liked most is that Wright believes that the most important duty of the English teacher is to help pupils enjoy literature, which is reassuring to know and he has many ideas to help teachers fulfil this necessary goal.
