Russian Battleship vs Japanese Battleship: Yellow Sea 1904-05 Book

A great look at both the Russian and Japanese battleships and navies of the Russo-Japanese War. I loved the attention to detail, the look at the lives of the people on the ships, the larger war, and how this war represented the first real, major battle between two modern technologically advanced nations. The book really puts into perspective so much stuff that we take for granted today - like the radio or electric motors - which back then were new, slow, and short ranged. You get a sense that stuff back then, 110 years ago was much different. As for the battles, the book covers the Yellow Sea and Tsushima Battles along with the initial Port Arthur battle. All of these are done in great detail, covering the use of the cannons, hit ratio, targeting scopes, and tactics and also the effectiveness of the commanders.
