Home Bound: Growing Up with a Disability in America Book

"Home Bound" by Cass Irvin is a booked I decided to read while working as a hospital volunteer for my senior project. This book gives insight to many challenges that people with disabilities encounter. From having to accept harsh realities or fitting into the social norm, "Home Bound" is incredibly touching. I feel a great amount of sympathy for Cass but also see her as a hero to many. Her optimism and strong will are so inspiring to others who may be going through hard times due to a disability. The book makes one realize that life is short and that nothing should ever keep you from happiness.
