The Search for the Secure Base

"(...) es en la teorÃa del apego en dÃ³nde he encontrado mi hogar" (P. 11).

Ateo como siempre me confieso, la TeorÃa del apego es casi una religiÃ³n para mÃ, por el grado de devociÃ³n (Â¿Fe?) que tengo en todo lo que de ella emana y en todo lo que con ella se puede producir.

Este es uno de esos libros que te permitirÃ¡n conectar la TeorÃa del apego con otras esferas del conocimiento (narrativa, arte, economÃa, entre otras), asÃ como con otras vertientes del psicoanÃ¡lisis. Considero que su mayor aportaciÃ³n es precisamente el interrelacionar e implicar la perspectiva de la TeorÃa del apego con esas otras dimensiones, perspectiva casi ausente en la literatura, por cierto.

Es un libro "avanzado" en tanto que requiere conocimientos o nociones previas de la TeorÃa del apego, pues no incluye ningÃºn tipo de revisiÃ³n histÃ³rica ni de introducciÃ³n a la cuestiÃ³n. TambiÃ©n considero que se le puede sacar mayor provecho a su lectura poseyendo conocimientos previos en psicoanÃ¡lisis (que no es mi caso, por cierto), pues hace muchas alusiones y referencias a autores, constructos, tÃ³picos y teorÃas de esta corriente de la psicologÃa, pues Holmes constantemente los contrasta y conecta con lo que se sabe del Apego.

En mi punto de vista, su contenido tiene poca aplicabilidad inmediata en la clÃnica (en comparaciÃ³n con otros materiales que he leÃdo en este tema), siendo su mayor fuerte el pensar la TeorÃa del apego desde otras lentes. Por otro lado, incorpora al final del texto un modelo de su autorÃa, en el que propone la apuesta por una psicoterapia dirigida exclusivamente desde la TeorÃa del apego (Terapia breve basada en el apego).

Te recomiendo que lo leas sÃ³lo si eres adepto a la (sagrada) TeorÃa del apego. Si lo que deseas es algo mÃ¡s general o introductorio, te recomiendo mejor "Apego adulto" de Feeney y Noller.
