Tradition and Modernity in Arabic Literature
- أعتقد ان الياس خوري كان يشرع ÙÙŠ كتابة رواية ما ÙØ£Øب ان يشارك قرّاءه بالمسودة والأسئلة المباشرة Øول ماذا يكتب والÙرق بين الØقيقة والØكاية والرابط بينهما، ثم بدأ بوضع مشاريع قصص "قد" تÙكتب وتÙØبك لتشكل رواية ما، لكني اعتقد انه لم يوÙّق بذلك وبقيت رواية "مملكة الغرباء" غريبة عن الرواية والقارئ.
- قصّتان اساسيتان ÙÙŠ الرواية: وداد الشركسية (والتي لم تكن شركسية لاØقاً) وصيرورة Øياتها من أذربيجان الى لبنان. الراهب اللبناني ÙˆØياته ما بين الØقيقة والخيال ما بين لبنان والقدس. مشروع الراوي بالتØقيق وكتابة القصة الثانية قاده الى عشرات القصص الجانبية الأخرى وإدخال اسماء كثيرة (الكثير منها شخصيات Øقيقية نضالية) وكتّاب (إميل آزايي٠وسلمان رشدي). يجمع بين القصتين وبعض القصص الجانبية Ù…Ùهوم التغرب بوجهيه العام والذاتي.
- لغة الرواية هي النقطة المضيئة Ùيها، لغة عذبة Ø·Ùعمّت بشاعرية ÙÙŠ بعض الأماكن وبÙلسÙØ© ÙÙŠ البعض الآخر وعكست اسلوب الهذيان الذي اتبعه خوري ÙÙŠ بناء هذه الرواية.
- مشكلتي الأساسية مع الرواية هي عدم اقتناعي بتواÙÙ‚ الأسلوب المتبع مع مضمون الرواية، ورصّ الكثير من القصص دون رابط بينها ÙˆØشد شخصيات كثيرة لا ÙŠØتملها هذا العدد الصغير من الصÙØات.
- من اسوأ قراءات العام دون ادنى شك، وللأس٠من كتابات الياس خوري الذي اØبه وأقدّره كثيراً.
وغداً عندما تنتهي الØكاية سو٠نجلس على شاطئ البØر، ونسكر ونضØÙƒ ثم نمضي، لا اريد نهايات Øزينة
