Memoir of Dr Walter C Allwright, Dental Specialist, from 1915 onwards. Born in London, he was lucky to attend a marvelously progressive school, Rutlish, which set him on the road to dentistry as well as instilling a lifelong love of rugby and Gilbert & Sullivan. War intervened and he served as a dental surgeon with the RAF for its duration, participating in the Normandy invasion. Afterwards he and his wife Margaret sailed to Hong Kong, where he set up the colony's public dental service, founded the (still-thriving) Hong Kong Dental Association and they raised their family. They later moved to Ireland where he pursued private practice and dental academia, with considerable success. Eventually retirement beckoned, much of which was spent in the Spanish sunshine. The book ends with the sad death of his beloved wife in 2002. Dr Allwright is blessed with their four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
