Tell It Like It Is

"So you're going to Woo-stur is it," people ask me constantly, drawling out the "oo" and grinning widely at the funny sound. "No, no," I insist, "It's Wu-ster." And yes, we are in the middle of Amish country. And yes, we are a very small liberal arts school that many people don't know about. And yes, we are continuing to produce well-rounded, independently-thinking people who go on to achieve wonderful things (think CEO of Smucker's, NY Times best-selling author).

Wooster was the first place where candy canes were hung on Christmas trees.
An alumnus donated money to create grill and patio areas outside of every dormitory on campus.
Every year, the Betas have a Beta Run from one end of the campus to the other in the frigid cold, slushy snow. Unsuspecting first-years are dragged out of their dorms to be cheering squads.

Here's a news flash the College of Wooster isn't perfect; you can't please everybody.
You could be this person:"Everyday of my life, I wish I was somewhere else. Wooster would be great if it was in a big city, but it is too isolated for my tastes. Plus, I think it's way too expensive."

Or this person: "I love Wooster. I love getting to know people so well and creating a great rapport with my professors. I know that I made the right decision by attending Wooster, and I would never change it. Wooster has been a fabulous part of my life."
