Julius Caesar: The Boy Who Conquered an Empire
I wish I had found history half as interesting when I was in school as I do learning it with my daughter. How did I not find this stuff fascinating? Currently we are covering Ancient Rome in school and watched a documentary about Caesar. I was compelled to find more information about this celebrated ruler who suffered a dramatic assassination. This book covered so much more than the documentary, yet left out others events that I was curious to learn more about. Meaning: I need more!
This book would best benefit junior to high school level students. I enjoyed the way the author grouped Caesars major events and times in his life in chronological order by section. The images throughout are also beautiful and provide a better perspective of the era. A time line is located at the bottom of nearly every page giving a clear lay out of the events described in the above text.
