Top Turret Book

Not my usual read, but I've been going through our shelves; this is a book that belonged to my father. Quite fascinating account - written at the time - of US efforts in WW I in China, fighting against the Japanese. And, from Stillwell's point of view, often fighting against politicians in DC and certainly with Chang Kai Shek. He was certainly no fan of the Chinese leader; in his private papers he compared him very, very unfavorably with the Communist leaders. Recalled before the end of the War (but before he might have been attacked by McCarthyites) he died at the age of 64 without ever publicly complaining or discussing his role in the War in China. An interesting book.
