This volume is made up of two great cookbooks combined: an anthology of Vanessa's "The Dirty South" and Ryan Splint's Australian masterpiece "Hot Damn and Hell Yeah". HD&HY is a finely illustrated and designed collection of recipes that aren't afraid of spices but are suited for those into easy to find ingredients that don't taste like sawdust. The Dirty South is a unique take on southern cooking, vegan style. A 128-page book sizzling with great cooking ideas and recipes—with plenty of easy and delicious spicy things, baked things, fried things, saucy things, vaguely cheesy things, better-than-meaty things, and other stuff you never thought you'd taste again when you went vegan. Nutrition isn't always the first priority for either of the editors, but the recipes are incredible.

Hot Damn and Hell Yeah! Recipes for Hungry Banditos/The Dirty South Vegan Cookbook
The book is more like a 'zine' and not really a traditional cookbook. The recipes are definitely inspired and regional and provide lots of interesting ideas to people who are not from "the Dirty South" and those who are, alike. The one complaint I've heard about the recipes is that they are not necessarily "healthy" because many items do include frying or deep-frying, and some fatty ingredients. I would suggest that you not eat from this book for every meal, but rather refer to it for new ideas or an item here and there to try out. I felt like it was a fun cookbook (and it's relatively cheap - $6 on Amazon, so it makes for a nice little gift, too).
