هذه السلسلة رائعة لعرض مقدمة تعريÙية رصينة عن أهم المواضيع الأدبية. ØªØ´Ø±Ø Ø¨Ø§Ù… وريس ÙÙŠ هذا الكتاب Ù…Ùهوم الواقعية وكي٠تطور على مدى القرون. ظهرت الواقعية مع روايات القرن التاسع عشر وارتبطت بالاعتقاد أن الÙÙ† لايمكن أن يتجاهل الجوانب الأكثر قسوة من الØياة بل من واجبات الÙÙ† أن يصور أدبياً هذا الجانب من الواقع ويقاوم بقلمه السلطة والظلم والاضطهاد ومعاناة البشر كما Ùعل تشارلز ديكنز وجورج اليوت وبلزاك وغيرهم الكثير. تداÙع الكاتبة عن اتهام البعض للواقعية انها "مجرد انعكاس أو Ù…Øاكاة" للواقع أو الØقيقة وكي٠أنها بالØقيقة أعمق من ذلك وتذكر علاقة كل من نظريات الأدب الØديثة بهذا المÙهوم ابتداءً بالØداثة، مابعد الØداثة، البنيوية Øتى مابعد البنيوية والتÙكيكية.
