This book follows the lives of Owen, Lylah, Amos, and Gavin Staurts.
From the skies to the trench, to France, this book went places. I felt like I was there as soldiers fought the deadliest battle to date.
When Lylah fell in love with a German pilot, who would become the "Red Baron" I got a sense of the turmoil of war. It wasn't pretty or glamorous. It was hell.
I enjoy Morris's book because it leaves me with a sense of history. If we forget what happened in the past, we'll be destined to repeat the mistakes in the future.
I loved the ending. Perfect.
