وقتی که نمایشنامه رو میخونی ممکنه با خودت بگی که فقط یه ذهن مریض و سادیستیک میتونه چنین موقعیتی رو خلق کنه . اما وقتی که جلوتر میری متوجه میشی که زود قضاوت کردی و لایه های عمیق تری پشت رفتارهای سکسی این زوج وجود داشته
داستان خیلی ساده است . ریچارد و سارا برای فرار از یکنواختی رابطه ی زناشویی ، تصمیم میگیرن که نقش فاسق رو برای هم بازی کنن و در نهایت از فانتزی های جنسی همدیگه توی یک رابطه باخبر میشن

Richard: does it ever occur to you that while you are spending the afternoon being unfaithful to me, I'm sitting at a desk going through balance sheets and graphs?
Sarah: well of course it occurs to me. It makes the all more piquant.

اما فانتزی زن ، مرد رو بهم میریزه . اینکه سارا در تخیلاتش وقتی که با فاسقش وقت میگذرونه دوست داره تصور کنه که شوهرش اون لحظه تو اداره مشغول کاره و اهمیتی نمیده که زنش داره بهش خیانت میکنه. یکم برای ریچارد این قضیه عذاب آور میشه به خصوص وقتی که همه ی این اتفاق ها داره تو خونه ی خودش رخ میده. و این نکته من رو یاد فیلم

میندازه وقتی که آل پاچینو از راه میرسه و متوجه میشه زنش داره بهش خیانت میکنه . واکنشش خیلی عجیبه فقط میگه

I'm angry yeah, you know you can ball my wife if she wants you to. You can lounge around here on her sofa… but you do not get to watch my fucking television set!

ریچارد دیگه نمیتونه تحمل کنه و میخواد که این بازی تموم بشه اما سارا معتقده که این نمایش (یعنی بازی کردن نقش فاسق برای همدیگه ) خیلی لذت بخش تر از یه رابطه ی معمولیه

Richard: that it has to stop. Your debauchery. Your life of depravity. Your path of illegitimate lust…Take him out into the fields. Find a ditch. Or a slag heap. Find a rubbish dump. Mmmm? What about that? Buy a Canoe and find a stagnant pond. Anything. Anywhere. But not my living room.

Sarah: I'm trapped. What will my husband say? He expects me. He's waiting. I can't get out. I'm trapped.
